Don Pomranky grew up around music. Both his father and older brother played. When he was about 14 his brother taught him how to play drums. His dad would show him chords on the guitar. At age 15 he was playing drums in wedding bands. At 18 his brother hired him to play bass in a bar band. By the time he was in his early 20s the guitar became his main instrument.”

Early influences range from classic country, 50’s artists such as The Everly Brothers and Ricky Nelson to 60’s artists such as The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix.

“Most of my musical life had been with country, rock, blues and acoustic groups, until 1998 when Three Penny Swing was formed. Primarily a swing band, I began a new journey learning Big Band, Motown , R&B and Rockabilly.”
